The Alabama men’s basketball team was without two players in its come-from-behind win at Georgia on Wednesday evening. After the 85-76 win over the Bulldogs in Athens, Ga., head coach Nate Oats revealed the reason for senior forward Nick Pringle’s absence.

“He’s currently suspended,” Oats said. “He’s got to decide whether he wants to be part of this program or not with some of his decisions, how he conducts himself. Nothing bad off the court or anything like that. It’s just in practice, in games. We’ll see where he goes. We’ll meet when I get back.”

This marks the second time this season that Pringle has been suspended because of “conduct detrimental to the team.” He also served a one-game suspension in early December and missed the Arkansas State game before returning to the court for the matchup with Purdue.

After the home win over the Red Wolves on Dec. 2, where Pringle was on the Alabama bench, Oats was asked if Pringle was able to show he was ready to come back from suspension.

“It was nothing necessarily with his practice habits,” Oats said last month. “It was more me and him had to have a discussion about what was important to him and how he’s going to conduct himself on and off the court. He’s a great kid. I love him. He’s got great energy about him, but just need to clean few things up and we talked through and he’s thinking the exact mindset he needs to be to help his team win a lot of games moving forward.”

Pringle has played in 19 of the Crimson Tide’s 21 games and been in the starting lineup for 11 of those contests. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound senior is averaging 5.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 70.2 percent from the floor. Over the last two games, against LSU and now Georgia, forward Grant Nelson has been in the starting lineup at the five spot.

Also missing Wednesday’s game was guard Davin Cosby, who had the flu per the broadcast.

Alabama will next host Mississippi State on Saturday, Feb. 3 (7:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network).
