Nick Saban: 'I've said everything I'm going to say' about Jimbo Fisher, NIL
Alabama head coach Nick Saban knows he made a mistake when he brought up individual institutions during his criticism of Name, Image and Likeness. He’s said so multiple times, including down at the SEC coaches meetings down in Destin, Fla. on Tuesday morning.
He also took the opportunity to once again clarify that he wasn’t accusing anyone of doing anything wrong with his controversial comments.
“I didn’t say anybody did anything wrong,” Saban told reporters in attendance on Tuesday. “I’ve said everything I’m going to say about this. I should have never mentioned any individual institutions, I’ve said that before.”
Saban made a similar statement to Jacob Hester on SiriusXM radio the day Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher called him a “narcissist” who thinks he’s “God.” Did those responses from Fisher create any hostility on Saban’s end? If it did, the seven-time national championship-winning coach isn’t admitting it publicly.

“I have no problem with Jimbo, I have no problem with Jimbo at all,” Nick Saban added.
What’s to be done about NIL though? Yes, Saban regrets calling out individual institutions, but he isn’t backing off his criticism of how NIL is being used in college athletics. On Tuesday, he went on to say that he wants some kind of uniform standard regarding NIL, but that he is “all for” players making “as much as they can make.”
“Some kind of uniform name, image and likeness standard that supports some kind of equitable, national competition, I think is really important in college athletics and college football,” Saban added. “I’m all for players making as much as they can make. But I also think that we’ve got to have some uniform, transparent way to do that. Our players did extremely well last year in Name, Image and Likeness because they got agents, they had representation.”
More than likely, we’ll also get to hear what Fisher has to say about the situation.
Do we think this feud is over? Eh, I probably wouldn’t count on it.
