Prized 2024 QB Julian Sayin commits to Alabama over Georgia, LSU
On Sept. 22, 2019, Bryce Young announced his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide. 37 months and one week later, another highly coveted quarterback from the West Coast joined forces with Nick Saban’s program: Carlsbad (Calif.) junior Julian Sayin.
Moments ago, the elite signal caller committed to Alabama on ESPN. Sayin, the No. 2 quarterback on the 2024 On3 Consensus, chose the Tide over LSU and Georgia.
Sayin’s commitment to Bama comes less than two weeks after taking a game day visit to the school. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder was in attendance for the Mississippi State game, and stayed the night in Birmingham before returning to Tuscaloosa the next day.
Sayin had nothing but praise for Alabama following his second visit to T-Town of the year.
“It was great,” Sayin told BamaInsider last month. “Really loved the atmosphere. I was able to see Coach [Bill] O’Brien and Coach Saban before the game yesterday. Came back today with my family… I was able to spend time with Coach O’Brien and then Coach Saban, too. It was a great experience.
“It was an awesome atmosphere. I really loved it. It looked like every seat was full. When there was music, everyone knew the words. It was just awesome to see.”
Saban and Company hosted Julian Sayin for a visit earlier in the year as he was on campus on June 13. The presence of Saban, their player development, and Alabama’s culture have long piqued Sayin’s interest.
“Just definitely the culture there,” Sayin said. “The ability to produce on the field and produce NFL talent. Coach Saban is a person who produces and wins games like he does. They always have elite talent. They have a crazy amount of first-round draft picks at receiver. That’s something I’d definitely want to play with.”
Bama has added yet another coveted quarterback to the fold after earning commitments from top-10 signal callers Dylan Lonergan (July 11) and Eli Holstein (May 24) earlier this year. On top of being the nation’s second-ranked quarterback, Sayin is the No. 14 overall junior in the country and the top-ranked 2024 prospect in California.

Julian Sayin is a key addition for the Alabama Crimson Tide
This commitment from Julian Sayin adds to an already impressive 2024 class for Alabama.
Sayin joins a group that features Jaylen Mbakwe, the No. 12 junior on the On3 Consensus. It also has pass catchers Martavious Collins and Perry Thompson, both of whom are four-star prospects.
That is a very interesting development as this time last year, Alabama had no commits in their 2023 class. Their first pledge in the cycle did not come until Elliot Washington (now committed to Penn State) joined the fold in January 2022.
Of course, Bama is far from done with recruiting in the 2024 cycle.
Leeds (Ala.) defensive lineman Kavion Henderson will announce his commitment this Sunday. He is down to a top five of Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, and Oklahoma. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favors the Tide (88.3 percent) to land him.
Fellow Alabama-based junior Sterling Dixon is committing soon, with his decision coming on Dec. 1. The schools he is primarily focused on are Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. The Crimson Tide trail here, per the RPM, but the staff will get him back on campus for the Iron Bowl on Nov. 26.
Alabama is assembling a strong 2024 class early on with Julian Sayin now on board. Stayed tuned to BamaInsider for everything that you need to know about Alabama’s ongoing recruiting efforts!
