At the conclusion of the 2024 NFL Draft, Alabama had seen ten of its former players selected, which included three more first-round draft picks for former head coach Nick Saban. With that said, there were still a couple of former Tide players who weren’t drafted, including offensive lineman Darrian Dalcourt.

The Baltimore (Md.) native is heading back to his hometown though after signing an undrafted free agent contract with the Ravens. His agency, Equity Sports, announced the news via Instagram and Dalcourt confirmed it on his personal account.

Dalcourt spent half a decade in Tuscaloosa (2019-23), and he started games at either center or guard in each of the last three seasons. His biggest contribution came in 2021 when he played 694 snaps and started 11 of Alabama’s 15 games at center. Over the next two years, he’d combine for 631 snaps and 10 more starts at center in 2022 and right guard in 2023. Durability issues limited his impact on the college level, but he’s got versatility inside.

Offensive guard is a need for the Ravens, so the landing spot is perfect.

Both of the starting jobs from a season ago are currently vacant after they lost Kevin Zeitler and John Simpson to free agency. It’s possible that Kalen DeBoer‘s starting right tackle at Washington the last two years (Roger Rosengarten) could initially play guard after Baltimore took him in the second round (No. 62 overall) on Friday night, but right tackle also has an opening. This — along with his versatility to play guard and center could help Dalcourt push for a spot on the 53-man roster.

He’s just got to stay healthy.
