Recruits share reactions to Alabama's 31-32 loss to LSU
Saturday presented an opportunity for the Alabama Crimson Tide to keep control of their own destiny.
Despite a loss to Tennessee, Alabama remained in a position to make it to the College Football Playoffs if they won the rest of their games, including the SEC Championship. Unfortunately, the team dropped their second consecutive road contest as the LSU Tigers defeated them 32-31 in Baton Rouge last night, effectively ending their playoff aspirations.

Alabama commitments and targets tuned in for this top 10 matchup, with a couple of them sharing their reactions on social media immediately after the game’s conclusion. BamaInsider gathered comments from several Bama pledges following Saturday’s loss to the Tigers.
Commits share their thoughts on Alabama’s close loss
Although Alabama’s pledges are still in high school, there naturally comes a feeling of being a part of the team already when you’re committed to a program. They’ve bonded with players on multiple visits and want to see their future school come out on top each game.
2023 defensive lineman Jordan Renaud, who committed to Alabama in September, had an emotional reaction to the Tide’s defeat.
“Man, I feel like Bama is still Bama,” Renaud said. “But I’m hurt.”
This was a nail-biter that featured six lead changes in the fourth quarter and overtime. Immediately following the close loss, five-star running back commit Richard Young tweeted out a facepalm emoji.

There were, however, some reactions with an optimistic outlook on Alabama moving forward.
2023 JuCo linebacker commit Justin Jefferson says the Tide will respond well to this game.
“Roll Tide,” Jefferson said. “We are going to come back bigger and better than ever.”
The natural reaction from fans following a loss in this fashion is to question the status of Alabama’s commitments. This is especially the case when Georgia and Ohio State — two teams that are actively pursuing multiple Bama pledges — remain undefeated and seemingly on their way to the College Football Playoffs.
2023 kicker commit Conor Talty says that he believes this group is locked in with the Crimson Tide.
“It was heartbreaking,” Talty said. “I thought we had a good shot at the playoffs, but this game killed our hopes. It didn’t seem like an Alabama football team today, if you know what I mean. It was a sloppy game and it wasn’t the first sloppy game this season. The only real positive I can take away from this game is Will Reichard’s performance.
“It’s good to see him bounce back strong after the [Texas A&M] and [Tennessee] games,” Talty continued. “Even though it’s been a rough season, it’s still Roll Tide and this recruiting class ain’t going nowhere.”
