The Southeastern Conference announced its men’s basketball postseason awards on Monday, and a couple of Alabama players were recognized by the league’s 16 head coaches.

Crimson Tide guard Mark Sears was a first-team All-SEC selection, marking the second year in a row he’s earned the honor. He was a second-team honoree in his first season with Alabama in 2022-23. Sears is averaging 19.2 points and 5.0 assists per game in 2024-25.

Alabama guard Labaron Philon was named to the SEC All-Freshman team following his rookie regular season. The freshman is averaging 10.9 points and 3.5 assists per game for UA.

Sears becomes the fifth Alabama player in the last six years to be named first-team All-SEC under head coach Nate Oats and is the first Tide player since Trevor Releford (2013 and 2014) to earn first-team All-SEC honors twice throughout their UA career. Philon becomes the eighth freshman under Oats to be named to the Freshman All-SEC Team.

First-team and second-team All-SEC honorees, All-Freshman team, All-Defensive team, along with Player, Coach and Freshman, Defensive, Sixth-Man and Scholar-Athlete of the Year were chosen by the conference’s 16 head coaches. Any voting ties were not broken.
