The American Football Coaches Association announced its 2023 All-America Teams on Thursday, and three Alabama players were selected to the first and second teams.

Crimson Tide linebacker Dallas Turner was named to the AFCA’s first-team defense, while defensive backs Terrion Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry landed on the second team.

The AFCA is one of five national organizations that determine consensus All-American status, along with the Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News and Walter Camp. If three of the organizations select a player to their first team, he earns consensus honors. If a player is named by all five, he is a unanimous selection.

Turner was recognized as a first-team All-American by four different outlets, including the AFCA AP, FWAA and Sporting News, so the linebacker earned the consensus distinction this year. McKinstry (AP, Sporting News) missed being a consensus 2023 pick by one team.

Because no player was recognized as a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, Alabama will not have a unanimous All-American for the first time since 2019.
