Three Alabama players invited to NBA Draft Combine

The NBA announced the 75 players that have been invited to the 2025 NBA Draft Combine on Friday afternoon, with three Alabama players receiving an invitation: Labaron Philon, Mark Sears and Grant Nelson.
The combine is a multi-day showcase that will take place from May 11-18 this year in Chicago. It serves as an opportunity for players to display their abilities in scrimmages, workouts and measurements for NBA teams ahead of the draft this June. Parts of the combine will be televised on ESPN and NBA affiliated networks.
Sears and Nelson have exhausted their college eligibility and are going through the draft process once more. Both players participated in it last season, but opted to return to school for an additional season. Both players are widely projected to go undrafted, occasionally being mocked in the late second round, but the combine still serves as a strong opportunity to connect with teams for potential undrafted free agent deals, should they not be selected in the draft.

The most interesting Crimson Tide player to watch is Philon, who declared for the draft after a stellar freshman season but still has the option to return for another season depending on what he hears during the draft process. Philon has been mocked anywhere from the mid-first round to anywhere in the second round, meaning his performance at the combine could heavily weigh into how teams view him.
Philon has until May 28 to withdraw from the draft and return to school.
Alabama has had six players drafted to the NBA under head coach Nate Oats, including four first rounders. This class is looking to add to that total.
