Coveted big man transfer sets up visit to Alabama
Another basketball player in the NCAA Transfer Portal is gearing up to visit the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend.
Earlier this week, BamaOnLine’s Tim Watts reported that Rutgers big man transfer Clifford Omoruyi would be taking a visit to see Nate Oats and his staff. Omoruyi, who spent the previous four seasons with Rutgers, will be in T-Town on Sunday.
The former top-50 prospect at the prep level entered the Transfer Portal on March 20. He has visited Georgetown and Kansas State since entering the portal.

Omoruyi checked in at 6-foot-11, 240 pounds ahead of this past season, and it is clear why there is interest on Bama’s end. Throughout last season, Alabama was in need of additional size in their front court; the Tide also recently saw big man Nick Pringle enter the portal. Omoruyi boasts a career 1.8 blocks per game average, including 2.9 blocks per contest in the 2023-2024 season.
A solid defender at the rim, Omoruyi is also fairly productive on the offensive end of the court. He averaged 10.4 points per game on 51.2 percent shooting this past season. He also averaged 8.3 rebounds in 26.9 minutes per game as a senior.
