Trio of Alabama guards will return for 2025-26 basketball season

Three more Alabama players are “running it back” for another season.
Guards Aden Holloway, Latrell Wrightsell and Houston Mallette officially announced they will be returning to Tuscaloosa for the Crimson Tide’s 2025-26 basketball season, via Yea Alabama.
In his first season at Alabama, Holloway appeared in all 37 games and averaged 11.4 points per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from behind the 3-point line. He scored in double figures 22 times this past season and topped 20 points three times, including a 26-point performance against South Dakota State back on December 29.
Both Wrightsell and Mallette medically redshirted this season due to Achilles and knee issues, respectively. In his second year in the program, Wrightsell only played in eight games before he suffered his setback. Prior to that, Wrightsell was averaging 11.5 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field, 42.2 percent from three and 85 percent at the line.

Mallette transferred from Pepperdine to Alabama last offseason and played in six games before his season ended. The senior guard averaged 3.2 points per game while shooting 58.3 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. Both Wrightsell and Mallette will be playing in their final years of college eligibility next season after receiving NCAA waivers.
Holloway, Wrightsell and Mallette join rising sophomore forward Aiden Sherrell as players who have announced they will return to Alabama next season. The Tide has lost two players to the transfer portal – Naas Cunningham and Mouhamed Dioubate – and has added a pair of transfers, Bucknell center Noah Williamson and Florida State forward Taylor Bol Bowen.
