WATCH: Clips of Alabama QB commit Eli Holstein from 7-on-7 event
Starting on Tuesday, Alabama quarterback commit Eli Holstein will participate in the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles (Calif.). Holstein will join the likes of Christopher Vizzina, Dante Moore, Jaden Rashada, Malachi Nelson, Nico Iamaleava, and others at the prestigious event.
Ahead of his trip to the West Coast, Holstein was back home getting some work in with his teammates at Zachary High School. The Baton Rouge (La.) signal caller and his team hosted a 7-on-7 tournament that featured other talented schools in the area.
BamaOn3 was in attendance for last Wednesday’s showcase, and recorded over two dozen clips of Holstein tossing the pigskin. In the tweet below, you can watch most of Holstein’s throws from the event.
Per the 2023 On3 Consensus, Holstein is the No. 54 overall prospect in his class and the eighth-ranked quarterback. Holstein, who committed to Alabama last month, is also the fourth-ranked rising senior in Louisiana.
Eli Holstein is ready to compete at the Elite 11 Finals
In the video above, you could hear Eli Holstein say, “Ooh, I faked you out there,” while pointing to the defense. We noticed that he played with a healthy amount of confidence that didn’t border on arrogance; Holstein knows what he can do on the gridiron and is assured by his preparation behind the scenes.

Mizzou coach sounded off
He’s looking to put his skill set on full display at this week’s Elite 11 Finals.
“I really feel like this is my time to go out there and show the country that I really am one of those top guys,” Holstein previously told BamaOn3. “I really am an Alabama-caliber player. Just being able to go out there and compete against the best guys in the country. Showing what I can do. Still feel like I’m a little underrated. Still keep that chip on my shoulder.”
Holstein is familiar with several attendees of the upcoming Elite 11 Finals, including Iamaleava and fellow Bayou State signal caller Rickie Collins. He made it clear, however, that he’s not letting up on his competition from Tuesday until Thursday.
“It really is a competition,” Holstein said. “I’m going out there to compete against everybody. Yeah, I have a couple of relationships, but I’m not out there to make friends. I’m out there to compete. Step on their necks and make sure I win the Elite 11 MVP. Show the country what I can do.”
On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power and others will be in Los Angeles this week, so stay tuned for more content on Holstein in the coming days.
