Watch: Alabama unveils first Final Four banner at Coleman Coliseum
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men’s basketball team unveiled its first Final Four banner at Coleman Coliseum on Friday night. The reveal preceded the team’s scrimmage.
Alabama reached its first-ever Final Four by defeating No. 6-seed Clemson, 89-82, in the Elite Eight on Saturday. The Crimson Tide was a 4-seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament and defeated 13-seed Charleston, 12-seed Grand Canyon, 1-seed North Carolina and the Tigers to reach its first Final Four. Alabama lost to eventual national champion UConn, 86-72.
Nate Oats led the Tide to its first Final Four and addressed the crowd on Friday night.
“It’s special,” Oats said. “Thanks to everybody that came out, too. We appreciate it. The turnout is great. We’re becoming a basketball school here, as well, so we need the support. We need you guys to come for the games. I thought the turnout was really good to support our guys. It was a special moment.
