Watch: Bryce Young speaks to the media for the first time 8-19-21
Bryce Young is only heading into his second year at the University of Alabama. Freshmen aren’t allowed to speak to the media, which means Thursday’s interview with Young was the first time the media has been given a chance to hear from the rising star.
Young handled the interview well, speaking on numerous subjects including:
- Areas he’s focused on improving this offseason
- Which quarterbacks he likes to study and watch
- How he keeps the new NIL deals from being a distraction
- The cultural adjustment from California to the South
- What he feels like his strengths are on the field
- The pressure that comes with being the starting quarterback at Alabama

Alabama will take the practice field on Thursday at 3:40 p.m. CT. The team will then follow it up with one more practice on Friday before holding their second scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday.
