Weekend Recruiting Nuggets: Alabama coaches hit the road
The contact period resumes on Friday with Alabama coaches hitting the recruiting trail. Caleb Downs, five-star safety from Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Georgia, and Justice Haynes, five-star running back from Buford High School in Georgia, will receive visits from the Crimson Tide.

Alabama adds two big commitments
Jaren Hamilton, four-star wide receiver from Bucholtz High School in Gainesville, Florida, announced his commitment on Monday. Hamilton took his only official visit to Alabama last weekend.
“Really, just my relationship that I built with the coaches,” Hamilton told BamaInsider when discussing why he committed to Alabama. “Coach [Holmon] Wiggins, Coach [Joe] Cox, and Coach Saban. Just talking with them, it all feels like family. It all feels like home there.
“It’s like a real family vibe out there,” Hamilton added. “When I was there, you could see with the recruits that everybody knew each other. Everybody dapped each other up. It’s a real good feel out there.”

Sterling Dixon, 2024 four-star linebacker from Mobile (Ala.) Christian, committed to the Crimson Tide on Thursday. He also considered Auburn and LSU. Dixon joins Alabama’s No. 1 ranked 2024 recruiting class according to On3 Sports Consensus Team Rankings.

Key targets visiting elsewhere
A few top remaining targets in the 2023 class will take visits elsewhere this weekend. Arion Carter, four-star linebacker from Smyrna High School in Tennessee, will visit a top rival. Jordan Hall, four-star defensive lineman from Westside High School in Jacksonville, Florida, will visit an in-state school.
