The latest installment of the On300 has been released. Alabama is well-represented in this update, with 12 of the top 100 players in the nation hailing from the state.

From a Crimson Tide perspective, Alabama’s trio of 2023 commitments have high standings in the new rankings.

Jahlil Hurley, Elliot Washington, and Yhonzae Pierre all check in as top-70 players overall in the latest update. They are each top-10 players at their respective positions as well.

In the piece below, BamaOn3 highlights the new national rankings for each Alabama pledge, as well as their state and position rankings.

Jahlil Hurley National Ranking: No. 32; Previous Ranking: No. 32

There was little movement for Alabama’s highest-rated commit in the latest rankings update.

Jahlil Hurley, a five-star prospect on the 2023 On3 Consensus, still checks in as the No. 32 overall player in his class. He remains the No. 6 junior in the state of Alabama, but did climb up one spot in his positional ranking as he’s now the third-ranked cornerback.

The On3 Scouting Report on Hurley cited his ball-tracking skills and position versatility at the high school level in our evaluation of him.

“Taller cornerback with high-end coordination and ball skills, the report read. “Does not have verified measurements, but looks to be well over 6-feet tall with a lean build and length for the position… Advanced as a ball tracker at corner with the ability to turn and locate the ball in coverage. An instinctual defender who sees things quickly. Also lined up at safety, receiver and even took some direct snaps as a junior. Does not give up many catches in coverage over the course of his sophomore and junior seasons.”

A product of Florence (Al.) Hurley has been a member of the Crimson Tide’s program since Feb. 22. By all accounts, he remains locked in with Alabama and recently visited the school as well.

Elliot Washington National Ranking: No. 66; Previous Ranking: No. 66

There was no movement for Alabama defensive back commitment Elliot Washington in this update.

Washington, the Crimson Tide’s longest-tenured pledge in their 2023 class, keeps his spot at No. 66 in the new On3 rankings. He is still labeled as the No. 16 prospect in Florida and the No. 7 cornerback in his class.

The On3 Scouting Report on Washington praised him for his track-like speed and physical development at this stage in his career.

“Excellent straight line/recovery speed,” the report read. “Has some slight hip stiffness and can get stuck in his break. Ran a 10.79 second mark in the 100 meters as a junior. Muscular, developed build. Has all the physical traits of a high-level corner at the next level that can hopefully develop the nuances of the position with more reps and collegiate coaching. Has the positional versatility to play on the boundary or cover in the slot.”

Washington, who committed to Alabama on Jan. 31, did take a trip to Michigan State this past weekend. BamaOn3 is hoping to catch up with Washington soon and see where things stand in his recruitment once everything settles down with him.

Yhonzae Pierre National Ranking: No. 60; Previous Ranking: No. 87

On3 is very high on new Alabama commit Yhonzae Pierre.

In the new update, Pierre rose 27 spots from No. 87 to No. 60 overall in the country. He also was tabbed as the No. 10 EDGE in his class and the seventh-ranked junior in Alabama.

Compared to the rest of the industry, Pierre is significantly higher on On3’s rankings service than anywhere else. His next highest national ranking on any other service is No. 176 and his next highest state ranking is No. 13.

As for why On3 is high on Pierre, we’ll turn to our scouting report on the 6-foot-3, 221-pound prospect.

“Twitchy pass rusher with a high-end first step and violent finishing ability behind the line of scrimmage,” the report reads. “Shows the ability to burst off the snap. Gets into the backfield quickly due to his initial burst. Capable of redirecting at the line of scrimmage. Shows early signs of a budding arsenal of pass rush maneuvers, including a spin and up and under move. Shows outstanding closing speed. Finishes with physicality and levies out some big hits behind the line of scrimmage.”

Pierre just committed to the Crimson Tide last Thursday, and all the intel we’ve gathered is that he will be signing with the program when it’s all said and done.
