Where Alabama is ranked in the polls entering conference championship week
Alabama closed out the regular season with a win on Saturday evening, beating Auburn 28-14 to finish the season with a 9-3 record in head coach Kalen DeBoer‘s first season in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide missed the SEC championship game, meaning its next game will come in the postseason, whether that’s in the College Football Playoff or a bowl game. On Sunday morning, Alabama rose to No. 11 in both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll.

The rising in the rankings positions Alabama to potentially sneak into the playoff as one of the final teams in the field, but the Crimson Tide won’t truly know where it stands until Tuesday night when the CFP selection committee releases its penultimate rankings before conference championship week on Saturday.
Alabama is the fourth-highest ranked SEC team, behind No. 2 Texas, No. 5 Georgia and No. 6 Tennessee while ahead of No. 12/13 South Carolina, No. 15 Ole Miss, and No. 20/22 Missouri. Alabama has three wins over currently ranked teams (Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri).
Tuesday night’s CFP rankings show will air on ESPN at 6 p.m. CT.
