Where Alabama is ranked in the polls entering Week 12
Alabama went on the road and got an enormous win this past weekend, stomping then-No. 15 LSU 42-13 and emptying out Tiger Stadium in the process.
The win is huge for the College Football Playoff chances of Kalen DeBoer‘s team with three weeks to go in the regular season, and with some chaos elsewhere in the SEC, the Crimson Tide is now back in the SEC title race as well.
Last week, Alabama was ranked No. 11 in the Coaches Poll, the AP Poll, and the College Football Playoff rankings. Following the win, Alabama rose to No. 9 in both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll. This week’s CFP rankings will be revealed Tuesday night.

Alabama is now the third-highest ranked SEC team, trailing No. 3 Texas and No. 4/6 Tennessee, while ahead of No. 10/11 Georgia, No. 10/11 Ole Miss, No. 15 Texas A&M, No. 21/24 Missouri, No. 21/22 LSU and No. 23 South Carolina.
The polls carry less weight at this point of the season because of the weekly playoff rankings released by the CFP selection committee, but they still serve as a possible snapshot into what the committee will do on Tuesday and what the overall perception is of these teams from the college football world.
Next week, the Crimson Tide hosts FCS foe Mercer, with a 1 p.m. CT kickoff on ESPN+.
