Where Alabama is ranked in the polls entering Week 6
Alabama football got its biggest win of the young Kalen DeBoer era on Saturday night, knocking off No. 2 Georgia in a wild game that ended with a final score of 41-34.
Going into the game, Alabama was ranked No. 4 in both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll. Following the win, voters seem convinced that the Crimson Tide is legit under this new regime. Alabama rose to No. 2 in the Coaches Poll, and in the AP Poll, jumped all the way to No. 1.
It marks the first time a Kalen DeBoer team has ever been ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll, after his Washington team got as high as No. 2 last season.
The jump makes Alabama the highest ranked SEC team, trailing No. 2/1 Texas, and ahead of, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 5 Georgia, No. 9 Missouri, No. 12/11 Ole Miss, No. 13/12 LSU, No. 19/17 Oklahoma, and No. 21/UR Texas A&M.

Getting past one top-5 team in Georgia this weekend, the Crimson Tide still has games against four currently ranked teams left on the schedule, including a home game against Missouri, road games against LSU and Oklahoma in November, and a monumental clash with Tennessee in Knoxville coming up in just three weeks.
Alabama’s next game is against Vanderbilt, which will kick off at 3:15 p.m. CT at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville this coming Saturday.
