3-star OT Spencer Dowland de-commits from Auburn
Three-star offensive tackle Spencer Dowland has de-committed from Auburn.
Dowland, who attends Athens High in Alabama, announced his decision Tuesday night on social media.
“After much thought and prayer and many talks with my family, I have decided to decommit from Auburn University,” Dowland wrote on X. “Thank you to Coach (Hugh) Freeze and the entire coaching staff.”
Dowland had been committed to Auburn since September 2023. He was the third recruit to commit to the Tigers in the 2025 class, preceded only by Malik Autry and Jakaleb Faulk.
Dowland is the nation’s No. 903 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 50 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 34 recruit from Alabama.
Even with the de-commitment from Auburn, the Tigers still have five offensive linemen on their ’25 commitment list: four-star tackle Broderick Shull, four-star tackle Tavaris Dice, four-star guard Tai Buster, three-star guard Jacobe Ward and three-star center Kail Ellis.
Auburn also continues to recruit five-star tackle Andrew Babalola and four-star Malachi Goodman, as well as four-star Nick Brooks and JUCO tackle Saquon Miles.

5-star DT Justus Terry taking official visit to Auburn this weekend
Five-star defensive tackle Justus Terry, who is ranked the No. 9 overall recruit in the country, has locked in an official visit to Auburn, Auburn Live has learned.
And it will happen soon.
Terry, who attends Manchester High School in Georgia, will be in Auburn this weekend, according to a source close to his recruitment. It will be Terry’s first known visit to Auburn since October 2023.
Auburn hosts Texas A&M on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. CT.
Georgia is the presumed leader for Terry. The Bulldogs have a 96% chance of landing the former USC commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Auburn, however, will try and change that this weekend.
Terry is the fifth known recruit taking an official visit the Tigers this weekend. Also expected to visit are offensive line commitment Kail Ellis, wide receiver commitment Sam Turner, defensive athlete commit Bryce Deas and Tennessee defensive line commit Darrion Smith.
