4-star Auburn running back target J'Marion Burnette to announce commitment decision Friday
For J’Marion Burnette, the wait is just about over.
The 4-star running back from Andalusia (Ala.) said via Twitter on Thursday that he will announce his college commitment Friday.
The reveal time is set for 11:30 a.m. CT.
Burnette is a major Auburn Tigers target and at this time the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favors the Tigers by a large margin (current projections HERE).
Burnette is one of the top recruits in the state of Alabama
Burnette is listed at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, though sources tell Auburn Live he’s probably more in the 6-foot and 230-pound range. He’s the No. 16 running back and No. 192 overall recruit nationally according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Burnette’s last known visit to Auburn was Jan. 28. He was at Florida State on Wednesday.
Auburn running backs coach Carnell Williams was home sick during Burnette’s visit. But Burnette still had the chance to meet new Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze for the first time. He was impressed.

“I enjoyed Coach Freeze,” he said. “I enjoyed Coach Freeze a lot.”
Later, he added, “Auburn is one of my top-top schools.”
Burnette has been particularly close with Williams, who started recruiting him more than a year ago.
Last summer, Burnette said their relationship was “strong.”
“I can see him coaching me in the future,” Burnette noted in July.
Those comments came after Burnette attended Big Cat Weekend at Auburn last summer. Three days prior to that event, Burnette Tweeted, “Auburn starting to feel like home.”
After the event, he posted the following, even more encouraging message, in a Tweet: “Auburn ima be back soon… AU lit — feeling like the move.”
Over his sophomore and junior seasons, he rushed for 3,745 yards and 29 touchdowns.
