4-star Auburn Tigers OL target DJ Chester to announce commitment decision this week
DJ Chester is one of Auburn’s top overall recruiting targets and he plans to reveal his commitment decision this week.
Chester, a senior at McDonough (Ga.) Eagle’s Landing Christian, said Sunday via Twitter he will announce his college plans Thursday. No time has been set.
He named six finalists in his Tweet: Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss and Florida A&M.
Chester is the No. 11 recruit in the state of Georgia and No. 145 overall prospect nationally in the On3 Consensus. He is a priority target for Auburn.

Chester took three official visits during the summer, including one to Auburn. He officially visited Michigan this weekend.
Chester was last at Auburn for the Penn State game. And he said just last week he enjoyed the environment there.
“The atmosphere was crazy,” Chester told Auburn Live. “I’ve got to get back down there for a night game because, man! Even like when they were down the fans were still cheering, like still being there. Usually a lot of teams, let’s say they’re losing, their fans are going to leave. They won’t stay and really watch the full game. But, that wasn’t the case at Auburn.”
LSU is the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favorite.
Here is Chester’s On3 scouting summary: Big-bodied mauler who makes his presence known in the run game by blowing defenders off the ball and finishing them with tenacity. Raw power through his hips and plays with tremendous leverage. Threw an impressive 52-foot-9 in the shot put and 163-foot-3 in the discus during his junior track and field season. Does not possess ideal arm length in order to thrive at tackle in the NFL. Could be a swing tackle in college, but ideal fit is along the interior. One of the youngest offensive linemen in the 2023 recruiting cycle.
