4-star CB JaDarian Rhym flips commitment from LSU to Auburn
Four-star cornerback JaDarian Rhym has switched his commitment from LSU to Auburn.
Rhym, from Valdosta, Ga., announced his decision on Tuesday, one day before the early signing period begins.
“Auburn is family to me,” Rhym said. “I feel like I really fit at Auburn. Auburn is a great school and a great town. I like everything about it.”

Rhym’s announcement comes two days after leaving an official visit to Auburn. It was his fourth visit to Auburn since the summer.
Relationships big for Rhym
Rhym had been committed to LSU for nearly a year. He committed in January, but began seriously considering other schools after LSU fired Ed Orgeron, and Corey Raymond, who recruited Rhym to LSU, was not retained by the new staff.
“Me and Coach Raymond, we’ve got a good relationship,” Rhym said Sunday. “It was just a lot. It was hard when he left.”

Rhym has built strong bonds with Auburn cornerbacks coach Zac Etheridge, defensive coordinator Derek Mason and coordinator of player relations Trovon Reed.
“I love the coaches,” Rhym said. “I feel like I can go in early and they can develop me.”
Rhym reporting in January
Rhym is scheduled to graduate in December and enroll at Auburn in January. He is the 15th commitment in Auburn’s 2022 class and fourth defensive back.
Rhym also is the fourth commitment for Auburn in the past two days, joining junior college safety Marquise Gilbert, four-star cornerback Austin Ausberry and defensive lineman Enyce Sledge.

Rhym’s On3 Scouting Report:
“Instinctive defensive back who has worked as a safety and cornerback for one of the top high school programs in south Georgia. Has long arms, which aid in coverage and as a tackler. Demonstrates good play speed, particularly as a safety. Closes distances quickly and shows some physicality as a striker and finisher. Takes on blocks with gusto. Played safety as a senior and corner as a junior. Would be considered a hyper physical corner or an advanced cover safety, depending on where he ends up at the college level.”
