4-star DT Jamaal Jarrett visits Auburn, plans to return soon
Four-star defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett took an official visit to Auburn last weekend.
Jarrett, from Grimsley in Greensboro, N.C., enjoyed it so much that he already has scheduled his next visit.
“I loved it,” Jarrett said. “I had so much fun. What really stood out was the people. My family and I really enjoyed the environment, how the coaches and staff treated us. We really got to talk 1-on-1 with the coaches.”
That includes new defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh.
“I got to learn a lot about Coach Brumbaugh,” Jarrett said. “He’s really cool and a great coach. Me and him had a lot of 1-on-1 time. He was teaching me stuff like how to watch film. I feel very comfortable around him. He’s straightforward and to the point about everything. Oh, and my family fell in love with his wife.”
Jarrett also got to spend time with Auburn freshman defensive lineman Enyce Sledge. The two consider themselves brothers.
“He was my host, so we got to hang out after dinner,” Jarrett said. “It was great seeing my brother again.”

Jarrett returning to Auburn to reunite with fellow 4-star
Jarrett plans to reunite with Sledge, Brumbaugh and another close friend and four-star defensive lineman.
“I know Sydir Mitchell and he has his official visit to Auburn June 24-26,” Jarrett said. “Me and my friend are going to come and get a hotel and make it like a second official visit. I want to go back up there and see everybody again and also work 1-on-1 with Coach Brumbaugh.”
Jarrett’s interest in Auburn is high following the visit.
“Auburn made a really big impression on me and not just because it was my first time there,” he said. “Auburn really stood out. They are now even higher in my recruitment.”
Jarrett next will visit Georgia on June 10-12. He also will visit Texas A&M June 17-19 before returning to Auburn the following weekend.
