4-star LB Robert Woodyard flips commitment from Alabama to Auburn
On3 Consensus four-star linebacker Robert Woodyard has flipped his commitment from Alabama to Auburn.
Woodyard, from Williamson in Mobile, Ala., had been committed to Alabama since June 25, 2020, but announced Wednesday that he will sign with Auburn.
“I feel like Auburn is home for me,” Woodyard said. “I love it there. I love the coaches and what Coach (Bryan) Harsin is doing.
“I appreciate everything Alabama has done for me. They have great coaches and a great program, but I need to do what is best for me.”
Woodyard feels at home at Auburn, sees opportunity for playing time
Woodyard has been a frequent visitor to Auburn, visiting campus at least five times since the summer.

Woodyard was in Jordan-Hare for the Georgia, Mississippi State and Alabama games. He also took an official visit in June and an unofficial visit in July.
“I just feel at home at Auburn,” Woodyard said. “There is also a good opportunity for early playing time. They are losing several linebackers and I have a good chance to go in and compete for a starting spot.”

Woodyard is Auburn’s 17th commitment in the 2022 class and second linebacker, joining Auburn High’s Powell Gordon.
At 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, Woodyard is the No. 156 overall recruit in the class, No. 14 linebacker and No. 9 overall in Alabama, according to the On3 Consensus.
