Kaden Magwood, a 6-foot-1 165 pound shooting guard from Louisville (Kent.) Combine Academy, has signed with Auburn basketball. He joins Simon Walker as the second signee of the 2025 class.

Magwood is the No. 62 overall player in the class of 2025, the No. 15 shooting guard, and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

He took an official visit for a football game

Magwood took official visits to Auburn, Ole Miss, N.C. State, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, USC and Kansas before narrowing his list to Auburn, N.C. State and Ole Miss. He committed to Auburn Nov. 12 and signed shortly after.

“Bruce Pearl is really engaged with his guys,” he said. “That’s what I really like and that’s what I really want in a coach.”

Magwood’s commitment to Auburn came a little more than six weeks after taking an official visit to Auburn. He was on the Tigers’ campus in late September, a visit that obviously made a big impression on him.

“The coaching staff was real good there,” he told On3. “Everyone communicated really well with me throughout the visit. I liked that. They said I’m a scoring point guard, so I feel like I could come in and be a Sharife Cooper-type of guard, or whoever they have had there.

“I was there for a football game, I mean, they lost that game, but the atmosphere was great. They were up at halftime, so there were a lot of people there and a great atmosphere. I really liked it.”

He also watched Auburn’s basketball team practice.

“It was really good,” he said. “You get to see how they progress every day. (Friday) they had a little light practice with mostly half-court (work). Those concepts translated to when they scrimmaged a lot full court. It was really good watching them practice.”

More additions could be on the way for Auburn

Magwood plans to sign with Auburn during the weeklong early signing, which begins on Wednesday, Nov. 13. He is the second commitment in the Tigers’ 2025 class joining three-star shooting guard Simon Walker.

Auburn also is a heavy contender for four-star power forward Sebastian Williams-Adams, who is scheduled to announce his decision on Sunday, Nov. 17. Williams-Adams’s finalists are Auburn, Oklahoma State, Purdue and Vanderbilt. Auburn currently leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) at 64%.
