No. 1 wide receiver in Georgia, 4-star Adam Hopkins IV, commits to Auburn
Four-star Adam Hopkins IV, who is ranked the No. 1 wide receiver in Georgia, has committed to Auburn.
Hopkins, from Thomas County Central in Thomasville, chose Auburn over his other finalists: Texas A&M, Florida State, Arkansas and Kansas State. He also had early offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Georgia Tech.
“Auburn just feels like the perfect spot for me,” he said. “Everything just feels right about Auburn. The education at Auburn is outstanding and that comes first. And then with football, I have great bonds with the coaches and everyone else there.”
Especially first-year wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard.
“I love him,” he said. “He’s a cool cat, a great guy and a great coach. The players, I talked to them and they told me how good Coach Ike is. I could tell that he has a big impact on the whole team.”
Hopkins gives Auburn’s class another 4-star commitment
Hopkins took an official visit to Auburn last weekend. It was then he knew the Tigers would be his choice.

“Everything felt set up for me at Auburn,” he said. “I knew it is where I had to be, but I even felt it through the phone before I even got there.”
Hopkins, who is 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, is Auburn’s eighth commitment in the 2023 class. Auburn on Wednesday lost the commitment of four-star receiver Karmello Enlish, but replaced him Thursday with Hopkins.
In three games this season, Hopkins has 10 receptions for 184 yards and three touchdowns.
The On3 Consensus ranks him the No. 196 overall recruit in the country, the No. 29 wide receiver and No. 16 recruit in Georgia.
Of Auburn’s eight commitments, six are ranked four-star recruits.
