Class of 2026 5-star edge Anthony Jones will visit Auburn for Big Cat
Five-star edge Anthony “Tank” Jones, who is ranked the No. 8 overall recruit in the 2026 class, will be back at Auburn on July 27 for the Tigers’ Big Cat recruiting event, he told On3’s Chad Simmons.
It will be Jones’s sixth known visit to Auburn and fourth this calendar year after having visited in February, March and June.
“With Auburn, the culture is great,” he told On3. “It’s close to home, too, and my family loves being there. I feel like I will fit in well with the defense they run also.”
Auburn outside linebackers/edge coach Josh Aldridge is recruiting Jones. The two have developed a good relationship throughout Jones’s recruitment.

“Oh, I love him, he’s a great coach,” Jones told Auburn Live. “We get along well. I can see myself playing for him, too. He’s really saying I am a top priority for the 2026 class. He just wants to get me back on campus and stuff.”
And now he will.
Other top 2026 recruits planning to visit Auburn for Big Cat include four-star defensive back Zelus Jones, four-star wide receiver Xavier McDonald, four-star wide receiver Jordan Gidron, four-star linebacker JaMichael Garrett and four-star interior offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr.
Jones also will visit Alabama on July 28, he told Simmons.
“LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M and Auburn are high on my list,” he said.
He also told Simmons that he does not plan to announce a commitment until his senior season.
The On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, ranks Jones the No. 1 edge in the country and No. 1 overall recruit in Alabama.
