BREAKING: Akron transfer OT Ronan Chambers flips commitment from Tulane to Auburn
Auburn has added another transfer offensive lineman to its 2024 class in former Akron tackle Ronan Chambers.
Chambers, who has one year of eligibility, announced his decision Monday on social media. His decision comes after taking an official visit to Auburn over the weekend.
Chambers previously was committed to Tulane. He entered the transfer portal in January and received offers from BYU, Western Kentucky, Utah State and App State, among others, before committing to the Green Wave on April 9.
Chambers likely is being looked at by Auburn to be a rotational lineman, a role he played during his four seasons at Akron.
Chambers, who is listed at 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds, attended St. Edward High School in Olmstead Township, Ohio. He is the second transfer offensive linemen in the Tigers’ 2024 class, joining Percy Lewis (Mississippi State), who signed with Auburn in January.
Auburn now has added 14 transfers in the ’24 class, including five in the spring portal window. In addition to Chambers, Auburn this spring has added defensive linemen Philip Blidi (Indiana) and Isaiah Raikes (USC), edge Keyron Crawford (Arkansas State) and wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith (Penn State).
