The Fegans File
Position: Safety
Height/Weight: 6-0.5 / 190 pounds
Key trait: With extremely long arms and elite football IQ, Fegans is a turnover machine. He is always lurking to create a turnover and does so at a high rate. One of the best pure playmakers in the country for the class of 2025.
On3 Industry Ranking: (94.34) No. 63 overall, No. 6 Safety, No. 3 in Alabama
Commitment date: July 29, 2024
Chose Auburn over: LSU, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia
Time of enrollment: January
Notable: Fegans was considered more of an Alabama lean earlier in his recruitment. His brother, Tre’quon, went to Alabama. Fegans then committed to USC before decommitting a few months later. Auburn slowly crept up to the top of his list above big time SEC programs that prioritized him.
Quoteworthy: “It will be cool to learn from (Kaleb Harris) and team up with him at Auburn, but that wasn’t what made my decision. It came down to the people, the place and the culture at Auburn. Every time I am there, it always has the feeling of being at home. It is a different culture there. That made a big difference.”
Breakdown
****Breakdown written by Auburn Live Recruiting Analyst Cole Pinkston
— Fegans has a ton of length for a guy who is around 6-foot tall. He is able to high-point the ball, get off the ground in a hurry, and creat turnovers at a high rate.
— There are very few safeties with gamechanging ability in college football. Fegans has that ability. He can make plays that change the outcome of the game. He is always lurking to pick the ball off and has a high success rate in doing so.
— Fegans fits Auburn at either safety spot. He can play in the field or on the boundary.
— In college, he might be better served playing on the boundary as he is excellent at jumping in passing lanes and disrupting the ball in the air.
— I think Fegans is less versatile simply because he needs to be in control of the backend. He can be a true quarterback on the field.

— Fegans’ eyes at safety are that of a veteran college safety. He doesn’t just know where to be, he is usually one step ahead of the quarterback.
I would argue that Fegans is the most SEC ready prospect in Auburn’s class. I think he is a day one contrbuter, if not pushing for a starting job. He is ready to be an SEC safety–and a good one.
In-person eval notes
— Natural and fluid as a safety, but big enough to pack a punch. He has very good hips and plays with very good technique. He understands football at a high level.
— Fegans had two picks on the night, one of which was a pick-6.
— Fegans is probably a boundary safety on the next level. He comes down in run-support very well, but covers extremely well, too.
— He is going to be a high-priority for Auburn in the 2025 class.
