Auburn, 2024 QB Adrian Posse part ways
Friday, Auburn Live reported Auburn was likely to part ways with 2024 quarterback Adrian Posse.
A day later, it became official.
Posse, a junior at Hialeah (Fla.) Mater Academy Charter, Tweeted on Saturday evening that “I have decided to de-commit from Auburn and re-open my recruitment.”
Posse is the No. 18 quarterback in the 2024 class for the On3 consensus.
But according to our intel, he did not have any communication with any of Auburn’s new coaches until the past 36 hours. Meanwhile, the Tigers have heavily pursued other 2024 quarterbacks since Hugh Freeze was named head coach Nov. 28.
Posse committed to the Tigers last July 30. At the time, Bryan Harsin was head coach and Eric Kiesau was offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Both men were fired by Auburn on Oct. 31.
When reached by Auburn Live on Friday afternoon, Posse’s father said it was his understanding Adrian had not spoken to Freeze or new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Philip Montgomery since they were hired.

Meanwhile, Freeze and Montgomery visited Little Rock (Ark.) Little Rock Christian Academy on Friday. That school is home to 4-star quarterback Walker White. White plans to visit Auburn on Monday.
Auburn now has one 2024 commitment. That’s 4-star corner A’Mon Lane of Moody (Ala.).
Lane told Auburn Live earlier this week he plans to visit the Tigers for a junior day on Jan. 28. He’s the No. 18 recruit in the state of Alabama for the On3 Consensus.
Posse had really bonded with the previous Auburn staff, particularly Kiesau.
“Every time I go up I always ask him the first play,” Posse said. “And we’ll have just a good 10-minute conversation on one play to start the game.
As for Harsin, Posse said he liked “everything” about him.
“He’s a great coach.” Posse said. “He’s a great man beyond the football field. He’s just a spectacular guy.”
