Auburn 4-star DB commit A'Mon Lane wins state in 60 meter
Auburn’s first commitment of the 2024 class, 4-star defensive back A’mon Lane from Moody, Ala., posted the fastest time in the Alabama 4A-5A 60 meter state championship. He also served as a part of Moody’s 4×200 squad which won state.
Lane completed the 60 meter race in 7.03 seconds.
Lane played his sophomore football season at powerhouse Thompson high school in Alabaster, Ala. before transferring to Moody high in Moody, Ala.
Auburn getting serious speed
If the 60 meter time, or his state championship win isn’t impressive enough, Lane also holds the Moody high school records for the 100 and 200 meter runs. He ran an blazing 10.69 seconds in the 100 meter and a 22.16 in the 200 meter in 2022 setting him far apart from the previous record holders.
His speed translates to football as he is a strong man coverage player out in space. Lane brings plenty of speed with his compact and muscular frame.

Freeze re-affirmed Lane’s commitment
Lane committed to Auburn on July 30, 2022 under the direction of the previous staff. When Freeze and his staff took over, it was not confirmed if they would honor his commitment. Not long after, the new staff visited Lane and confirmed that he would be a key player in the Tigers’ 2024 class moving forward.
Lane appears to have a deep love for the school and the football program at Auburn.
“My grandmother, she’s the one that taught me football,” Lane told Auburn Live’s Cole Pinkston last July. “Growing up I was an Auburn fan, a really big Auburn fan. She always wanted me to play at Auburn, so if I did that I know I can make her happy and make my current family happy, too. I’m home–they wouldn’t have to travel to come see me. It would mean a lot, and I want to get Auburn back to the top.”
