Auburn adds huge commitment from 4-star wide receiver Daquayvious Sorey
Auburn on Friday picked up a huge commitment as four-star wide receiver Daquayvious Sorey announced his intentions to sign with the Tigers.
Sorey, from Chipley, Fla., committed to Auburn over his other listed finalists: Alabama, Miami and Florida.
“I love the community and the environment in the community at Auburn,” Sorey said. “It’s something I want to be a part of. I really love the offense, too.”
Sorey, a former Georgia commitment, also has built strong bonds with Auburn coach Bryan Harsin, wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard and wide receivers graduate assistant David Whitlow.
“The relationships I have with Coach Harsin, Coach Ike and Coach Whitlow, those are big,” he said. “I really like all of them.”

Especially Hilliard, who is in his first year at Auburn.
“Coach Ike keeps it real with me,” he said. “He’s a real dude. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything. He’s been straightforward with me the entire time and that’s what I like.”
Sorey’s recruitment ‘is over’
Sorey last visited Auburn as a sophomore, but plans to return soon for an official visit.
“I’ll be there for the Penn State game on an official visit,” he said. “I can’t wait to get back up there. I love it up there.”
Sorey said it will be the last visit he takes before signing in December.
“My recruitment is over with,” Sorey said. “I’m locked in with Auburn all the way.”
Sorey, who is the On3 Consensus No. 265 overall recruit, is Auburn’s second wide receiver commitment in the 2023 class. He joins four-star Karmello English, who committed to Auburn in July.
Auburn now has eight commitments in its ’23 class, six of which are On3 Consensus four-star recruits.
