Auburn baseball tabbed No. 3 seed in latest NCAA postseason projections
AUBURN — Auburn baseball strengthened their postseason position after taking two of three against then No. 1 LSU last weekend. That series victory came on the heels of taking two of three at then No. 2 South Carolina.
The latest postseason projections from NCAA.com place Auburn as the No. 3 seed in the Storrs, Conn. regional with No. 1 seed UConn. The Huskies are projected the No. 16 overall national seed. Virginia is the projected No. 2 seed, with Central Connecticut State the No. 4 seed.
Auburn sits at 27-19 overall, 20-9 at home and 5-10 on the road this season.
The Tigers have won three straight series heading into this weekend’s series at Ole Miss. The season ends with a series at home against Missouri. If Auburn could take two of three in the next two weekends, they would finish the last 15 games of the SEC schedule at 10-5. That’s a stark contrast to their 5-10 record in the first 15 games of the league schedule.
