AUBURN — Auburn football will play SEC opponents Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Arkansas at home, while playing Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama on the road during the 2024 season. Those games will join non-conference opponents California, New Mexico and Louisiana-Monroe already on the schedule.
The 2024 schedules were determined by traditional opponents and balance of overall schedule.

- It’s the first time the Tigers haven’t played the Rebels since 1989.
- It’s the first time the Tigers haven’t played the Bulldogs since 1954.

The SEC, which announced during spring meetings earlier this month a one-year plan to go with an eight-game conference schedule without divisions in 2024, announced its 2024 league football schedules during an SEC Network broadcast on Wednesday evening.
The league’s best two conference records will match up in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta at season’s end.

“During this time of change, our fans will continue to enjoy traditional rivalries and begin to see new matchups presented by the addition of two historically successful football programs to the SEC,” league commissioner Greg Sankey said on June 1.
Per multiple reports over recent weeks, one of the concerns for SEC teams about going to nine conference games involved tougher non-conference games already scheduled for that season and how that might affect their chances of landing a spot in an expanded 12-team playoff with a potential extra loss. For example, Texas A&M opens the 2024 season against Notre Dame, and Alabama plays at Wisconsin the second week of the season. Also, Florida plays Florida State every year, South Carolina faces Clemson and Kentucky faces Louisville.
RECENT CONFERENCE HISTORY FOR AUBURN: Since the 2013 season, Auburn football is exactly .500 in SEC games.

- The Tigers went 7-1 during the 2017 season resulting in a SEC title game appearance. Since, Auburn has two winning records in SEC play with three losing records.
- Over the last 20 seasons, Auburn has lost two or less conference games just six times, while losing three or more SEC games 14 times.
