Kickoff time, TV set for Auburn's trip to No. 1 Georgia
AUBURN– For the first road game of the year, Auburn will travel to Athens, Georgia to play at 2:30 p.m. CT on October 8, 2022 on CBS.
This is the second CBS primetime game of the year for Auburn, the first being against Penn State on September 17th when Auburn fell short, 12-41.
This game will be the first of two back-to-back road games and the first of five remaining ranked-opponent matchups for Auburn. The following weekend, the Tigers will travel to No. 14 Ole Miss on October 15th before returning home to play No. 20 Arkansas on October 29th.
This matchup is designated as each team’s cross-divisional rivalry game. The Georgia Bulldogs lead the overall record for the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, 61-56-8.
Georgia, the No. 1 ranked team in the country, has outscored their opponents 169-32 so far this season. Last weekend, Kent State put up 22 points against the Bulldogs, which was the most that a team has scored on them all season.

The last matchup was in Jordan-Hare this past season, where the Bulldogs defeated the Tigers, 34-10. Auburn has not defeated Georgia in Athens since 2005 and is looking to end Georgia’s six-game win streak this next Saturday.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is 7-1 against Auburn, only losing in 2017. Both teams travelled to the SEC Championship, though, and Georgia defeated Auburn in Atlanta, Ga.
