Auburn Football Roster Tracker: Tigers continue hovering around scholarship limit
AUBURN — Two seasons down, two recruiting classes down and two transfer portal classes down in the Hugh Freeze era. Freeze is now 11-14 overall and 5-11 in SEC play. The on-the-field results have been disappointing, but the efforts on the recruiting trail have provided hope for the future. Needless to say, this offseason is incredibly important. Freeze and staff need to make another big jump in elevating the talent on the roster, while also retaining talent that has been brought in the last two seasons. If this Auburn program is going to take off under Freeze, this offseason needs to go very well. The time is now to make real strides. LATEST: Safety CJ Johnson entered the portal. Johnson didn't record a stat while at Auburn. Cornerback Keionte Scott also entered the portal. Scott recorded 113 tackles while at Auburn. Due to a recent court ruling, former JUCO players that just finished their eligibility will have their eligibility extended. That is allowing Scott to continue his college career. Scott's departure doesn't impact the roster, as he wasn't being counted on to return anyway.
