Pregame notes

*Robby Ashford has been juiced up since he stepped on the field an hour ago. Bouncing around, getting pep talks from Harsin and other assistants. He’s hyped, that’s for sure.

*From the looks of this, Trey Lindsey is QB3 for this game. The senior from Montgomery certainly knows the offense, has good footwork, does the little things right. Sawyer Pate is QB4 for today.

*Ashford, Geriner and Lindsey are the QBs taking shotgun snaps during warmups.

*T.J. Finley and Zach Calzada just trotted out and are both dressed. Finley isn’t even throwing, helmet half on. They are there for support today. Calzada wasn’t planning on dressing as of Thursday. Harsin wanted the guys to dress and look/be involved, even if they aren’t playing.

*Robby Ashford will start at QB in place of T.J. Finley

*Koy Moore will start at WR in place of Malcolm Johnson Jr.

*D.J. James will start at CB in place of Jaylin Simpson

*Cayden Bridges will start at S in place of Donovan Kaufman

*It will be the Robby Ashford show for the most part today, but I’m intrigued to see Holden Geriner. In terms of how Bryan Harsin thinks of HG: Geriner was one of Harsin’s selling points when he was recruiting OC Austin Davis. Harsin believes Geriner is a star in the making.

*Robby Ashford, Holden Geriner, Sawyer Pate are warming up, no sign of T.J. Finley or Zach Calzada. We don’t expect either of Finley or Calzada to dress.

*Still waiting to confirm that Zach Calzada is indeed not dressing, but I was told he wouldn’t, so not sure why that would have changed.

*The team arrived and is prepping to come out onto the field to start warmups.
