AUBURN – It’s game day.

San Jose State comes to town on September 10 for game No. 2 inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Tigers are looking to move to 2-0 on the season before Big Ten opponent Penn State invades the Plains on September 17.

It’s Hometown Heroes and First Responders Appreciation Day. Recently retired Auburn track and field coach Ralph Spry will be recognized for his 25 years with the Tigers.

What to watch for

T.J. Finley took 12 more snaps than Robby Ashford against Mercer. Will Bryan Harsin and Eric Kiesau split the reps 50/50 against SJSU? Will they let both operate drives, then turn to the hot hand?

As for Zach Calzada, the Tigers’ coaching staff continues to develop the Texas A&M transfer, but Calzada was again the odd man out when it came to receiving repetitions during practice this week.

After 41 rushes and 21 passes in the opener, will Kiesau open up the offense in week two? The quarterbacks and the receivers could certainly use the work before Penn State.

With just six snaps in the opener, will hyped-up freshman Camden Brown see more playing time? And after a super-productive game one, will Ja’Varrius Johnson play more than 15 snaps in game two?
