Auburn Live Plus: Alex McPherson details his health journey, offseason surgery, road to recovery

AUBURN — Auburn sophomore kicker Alex McPherson was poised for a big 2024 season, until a gastrointestinal illness derailed his spring, summer, and entire last fall. McPherson dropped nearly 50 pounds during the ordeal, as he fought to figure out what was wrong and how to remedy the situation.
McPherson ended up kicking in only one game last season before telling the Auburn coaching staff he simply wasn’t able to continue to prepare and fight his illness at the same time.
After dropping to as low as 110 pounds, McPherson had offseason surgery and is finally on the road to recovery. As optimistic as he’s been in a long time, McPherson details his last year with Auburn Live in an interview worth listening to in order to understand where McPherson has been and why he’s encouraged about the potential of getting back to normal in 2025.
