Auburn makes the top 5 for key WR target Karmello English
Karmello English has been an emerging name as of late. He isn’t a new name, but rather a guy who was once high on Auburn and then went quiet. It is understood that the Tigers were probably slipping some at one point. Now, Auburn is right in the thick of it and could be emerging as the top school.
That was at least somewhat confirmed Monday around noon when English dropped his top-5. This is certainly a big development as English announced last week that he would put out his top-7 on June 12. It is safe to say things are moving fast with the 4-star receiver.
English’s top schools
English has now narrowed his list of 20+ offers to five. The top five schools are Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, Florida, and Penn State. While Kentucky, Florida, and Penn State are absolutely still involved in this recruitment, we have learned that the 4-star WR more than likely wants to keep it in his home state. Chances are, this could come down to a classic Iron Bowl battle.

[ Recruiting Insider: More on Auburn’s late rise and the Ike Hilliard factor for English ]
English has been to Auburn twice in the past month and seems to be trending to the Tigers right now. That is reflected in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Auburn has surged to a commanding lead with a 78.6% chance of landing him.
Alabama, one of his other top schools, could certainly strike at any time. They are still holding a percentage of 11.6% in the RPM. Should they push for him, things would become very interesting.
