Friday afternoon, 4-star Georgia LB Dee Crayton released his top 5 schools. Auburn made the cut. This was suspected after Crayton recently scheduled an official visit to Auburn. The 4-star backer made it to Auburn early in the year. He had this to say following that visit.

“One of my favorite parts about it (the visit) was showing me highlights where they pointed out the things that I did well on film and compared it to what Auburn linebackers like Owen (Pappoe) and Zakoby (McClain) did. So, it was basically identical plays in the highlights. So they were showing me how I would be in their scheme and that they can build their scheme around me. That was one of my favorite parts, and my dad’s as well.”

Top schools for Crayton

Crayton cut his extensive offer list down to just Auburn, Clemson, UCF, Penn State, and Missouri. As we have been saying for a while now, and the On3 RPM reflects it, this seems to be an Auburn-Clemson battle. It seems as though both schools are neck and neck as they go into the official visits.

Clemson holds a slight lead in the RPM with a 31.9% chance of landing him. Auburn is right there with 27.9%.

Crayton spoke with On3’s Jeremy Johnson about each of his top 5 schools. Here is what he had to say about Auburn: “Coach (Christian) Robinson has shown me a lot of love. Every day he’s talking to me and my parents. I could play early there as well. I could be that piece that they’re missing on defense especially with Owen Pappoe leaving soon. Him coming from the same place and most of their players coming from Georgia and the Carolinas is big.”
