Auburn OL target Clay Wedin reopens recruitment, Tigers surge to top
Clay Wedin has reopened his recruitment.
Wedin, an offensive lineman from Carrollwood Day in Tampa, Fla., de-committed from Michigan State on Monday.
Wedin had been committed to the Spartans since June 14.
“After a ton of prayer and thought, I have made the difficult decision to decommit from Michigan State,” Wedin wrote on Twitter. “This decision does not have anything to do with football or academics, it is a personal decision I have made.
“I do and will continue to have the upmost respect for Michigan State University, the football program, coaches, staff, players and fans.”
Auburn surges to the top for Wedin
Auburn, which Wedin visited two weeks ago, has surged to the front of Wedin’s recruitment. The Tigers now are the heavy favorites, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

“They’ve let me know that I’m a valuable target and that I’m still a take for them,” Wedin said after the recent visit. “They’re still trying to get me to be a Tiger.”
The On3 RPM believes the chances are high. Auburn has a 76.3 percent chance of landing Wedin, according to the On3 RPM.
Wedin is ranked the No. 427 overall recruit in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally-weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
