Auburn remains at No. 2 in latest AP poll
AUBURN — Auburn basketball remained No. 2 in the latest AP poll released on Monday.
Auburn received 3 first-place votes, while new No. 1 Tennessee received 58 first-place votes.
The Tigers almost reached No. 1 for the first time since the 2021-22 season and the second time in program history. Auburn spent three weeks at No. 1 that season and hopes to land back at No. 1 again this season.
Iowa State, an Auburn win, ranks No. 3, Duke No. 4, Kentucky No. 5, Marquette No. 6, Alabama No. 7, Gonzaga No. 8, Florida No. 9 and Kansas at No. 10.
Houston, an Auburn win, is No. 15.
Previous impressive wins, North Carolina and Memphis, have both fallen out of the rankings. Memphis would be No. 28 and North Carolina No. 42 based on receiving votes.
The Tigers will have another shot at jumping into the No. 1 spot on Saturday, with a neutral-site game against Ohio State in Atlanta. Ohio State is No. 29 in KenPom, No. 21 in the NET ratings and No. 32 in Torvik’s ratings.
