Auburn signs Maryland transfer linebacker Fa'Najae Gotay
Auburn has signed Fa’Najae Gotay, a transfer linebacker from Maryland, originally from Fort Myers, Fla. Gotay is the 15th transfer addition for the Tigers 2024 class. he will have one year to play at Auburn as he is a sixth-year senior going into 2024.
Gotay, in five seasons at Maryland, had 133 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 2 interceptions. He had the most success in 2023 totalling 44 tackles, 27 solo, 2.5 sacks, and 1 interception. He had a season-high 6 tackles against Auburn in the bowl game.
On3’s Transfer Portal Reporter, Pete Nakos, took to Twitter to comment on the Tigers’ new addition.
“Was a bit of a surprise when he entered last month. He’s played in 42 career games and can be a key contributor for Auburn,” Nakos said.
