Top target DE Rueben Bain expected to visit FSU this weekend

Even with Auburn looking for a new football coach, recruiting won’t slow. And the program’s biggest targets yesterday remain its biggest targets today. So until we know who will succeed Bryan Harsin, Auburn Live will keep tabs on essentially the same group of players as before he was fired.

In this space, we’ll continue to highlight performances of offered prospects, flip targets and other recruits of note.

Here are this week’s notable performances …

Tigers Target Tracker …

*2023 Edge Rueben Bain, Miami (Fla.) Central: Central beat Miami (Fla.) Pace 50-14. Bain recorded two sacks. That gives him 19 sacks on the season. He visited Auburn on Oct. 1. Auburn edge coach Roc Bellantoni and linebackers coach Christian Robinson watched him play in person two weeks ago. He’s expected to visit Auburn again in November.

*2023 LB Stanquan Clark, Miami (Fla.) Central (LOUISVILLE COMMIT): Central beat Miami (Fla.) Pace 50-14. Clark’s game stats not known. He entered the contest with 56 tackles and seven sacks in eight games played. He plans to officially visit Auburn for the Texas A&M game.

*2023 CB Colton Hood, McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian Academy (MICHIGAN STATE COMMIT). In an 82-0 win over Towers (Ga.), Hood had a 40-yard catch and returned three punts for 95 yards, with a long of 55 yards, and one touchdown return. He officially visited Auburn over the weekend.

*2023 LB Lewis Carter, Tampa Catholic (OKLAHOMA COMMIT): In a 35-14 win over Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson, Carter rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on six carries and had 13 tackles.

*2023 CB Edwin Joseph, Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep: Joseph recorded one catch for 12 yards in a 63-0 win over Boca Raton (Fla.) St. John Paul. That gives him 26 catches for 466 yards and five touchdowns on the season — to go along with two interceptions.

*2023 TE Jelani Thurman, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes (OHIO STATE COMMIT): In a 68-14 win over South Paulding (Ga.), Thurman had two receptions for 44 yards. Thurman now has 25 catches for 367 yards and seven touchdowns on the season. Langston Hughes is 9-0.

*2023, DL Joshua Horton, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes (NORTH CAROLINA COMMIT): In a 68-14 win over South Paulding (Ga.), Horton recorded eight total tackles and a fumble recovery. Horton has 70 tackles (36 solo), 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks this season.

*2023, Darron Reed, Columbus (Ga.) Carver (LSU COMMIT): Reed has 24 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 7 sacks on the season.

Now, for some underclassmen Auburn targets …

*2024 QB Air Noland, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes: In a 68-14 win over South Paulding (Ga.), Noland was 16 of 23 for 287 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. For the season, he is 135-of-189 passing for 2,335 yards, 32 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

*2024 RB J’Marion Burnette, Andalusia (Ala.): OFF. Burnette has 1,269 rushing yards this season while averaging about 9 yards a carry.
