AUBURN — Auburn basketball will play at Duke in this year’s ACC-SEC Challenge. The game will be played in Durham, N.C. during the 2024-25 non-conference schedule before SEC play begins.

Auburn is 0-4 all-time against Duke. The two teams last played at the Maui Invitational in 2018, with Duke winning 78-72. The Tigers lost at Duke in December of 1981 by one, and lost by five at Duke in December of 1975. Those are the only two trips the Tigers have ever made to Duke.

Sources told Auburn Live in May that Bruce Pearl and Jon Scheyer were working to make this matchup happen.

Cameron Indoor Stadium holds 9,314 people. Given this will be the Tigers’ first trip there since 1981 and maybe the only trip there for the Tigers in many people’s lifetime, ticket prices for this game will be something to watch.

Both Duke and Auburn are projected Top 15 preseason teams, with Duke being inside most people’s Top 10, and Auburn being inside some Top 10’s and some Top 12 lists.

Auburn beat Virginia Tech in the ACC-SEC Challenge last season. Here is the entire list of ACC-SEC Challenge matchups for 2024.

Bruce Pearl recently said this would be Auburn’s toughest non-conference schedule during his tenure.

Sources continue to tell Auburn Live that playing Purdue in Birmingham and Ohio State in Atlanta are possible neutral-site game possibilities, in addition to the scheduled Duke game and the tournament in Maui.
