Baylor OL commit ‘more than likely’ will officially visit Auburn
Baylor offensive line commit Sean Thompkins seems to be intrigued by Auburn after receiving an offer from the Tigers last week.
“It’s really close to home and who doesn’t want to play in the SEC?” Thompkins told Auburn Live. “One of my teammates went there a couple years ago (Dre Butler). He went there and was talking about Auburn and how they treated him. And I was like, ‘That’s great.’”
Thompkins, a 3-star recruit from Covington (Ga.) Newton, committed to the Bears on June 26. He’s listed at 6-foot-6, 310 pounds and is the No. 58 recruit in the state of Georgia for the On3 Consensus.
He said Auburn is recruiting him at tackle.
“I started talking to them awhile back,” Thompkins said. “I’ve been talking to (offensive line coach Will Friend). He seems like a cool guy and I’d like to build a relationship with him. He’s basically telling me I’m a priority. I’m the main focus on what Auburn needs. It’s important wherever you go to make sure I’m needed.”

Thompkins has two official visits remaining. He has been to Baylor, Florida and Kentucky.
Auburn is likely to get him on campus
Thompkins said Sunday that Auburn “more than likely” will get an official.
“Auburn said something about an official,” Thompkins said. “I’m always open to go to new places and try new things.”
Sunday, Thompkins said he has medium interest in Auburn. He was clear to point out the Tigers are not too late to the party.
“On a scale of 1 to 10, it’s like a 5 right now because I haven’t really sat down and gotten to know anybody there. I’m always open to new things. I just want to make sure all my options and windows are open. I definitely don’t want to regret anything later on.”
For now, Thompkins said he’s still solid with Baylor.
“I’m leaning toward those guys heavy,” he said. “I’ve got a really good relationship with them.”
