Big OL Tyler Johnson flips commitment from Texas Tech to Auburn
One official visit with Auburn’s new staff is all Tyler Johnson needed.
The big offensive lineman from Natchitoches, La. on Sunday morning announced his commitment to Auburn. Johnson previously had been committed to Texas Tech.
Why Auburn?
“Why not?,” Johnson told Auburn Live. “It’s SEC ball at the highest level and I’m getting coached by a great coach (Jake Thornton). And I trust they can get the program back to where it needs to be.”
Johnson’s announcement comes after two days spent in Auburn on an official visit. He arrived in Auburn on Friday and is set to leave Sunday. He also visited Auburn in July for Big Cat Weekend.
Johnson also has taken official visits to Texas Tech and Baylor, and claimed offers from both programs, along with Missouri, Kansas State and Houston, among others.
