Inside Auburn Tigers recruiting.

Auburn’s efforts to land Tigers legacy Colton Hood, a 3-star cornerback from McDonough (Ga.) Eagles Landing Christian Academy, haven’t slowed.

Two weekends ago, the Michigan State commit officially visited the Tigers. He previously attended the Auburn-Penn State game in September.

Now, Hood is coming back to Auburn again for Saturday’s game with Texas A&M, he told Auburn Live. Also on the schedule: A Nov. 19 official visit to North Carolina.

He’s not yet sure if he will sign in December or February. Either way, Auburn appears to be very much in the hunt. Maybe even the favorite at this time.

Until recently, Hood had been listed at 5-foot-11. But we’re told he measured in at over 6-feet on his Auburn official.

QUICK HITTERS

-Last week, Auburn Live reported Edwin Joseph, a 4-star cornerback from Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna, would possibly make an official visit to Auburn next weekend. Now it’s confirmed to be just that. Florida State and Louisville appear to be the other programs to watch here.

-As we’ve noted a few times, we expect there to be a large contingent of prospers from south Florida in Auburn next weekend (STORY HERE). And now, you can add two more high-level 2024 prospects to the list. They are Miami (Fla.) Jackson twin brothers Tyclean and Tycoolhill Luman, two big-time edges. Both players have offers from schools such as Auburn and Miami. Per Canesport, our Miami site at On3: “These aren’t your usual prospects because they started playing organized football three years ago in their home city Montreal, Canada.”

-Regarding Auburn’s chances of flipping 4-star linebacker Stanquan Clark of Miami (Fla.) Central from Louisville, one source put it at “50-50.” He’s officially visiting the Tigers next weekend.

-Speaking of Florida recruits, as of now we like Auburn’s chances of keeping 3-star edge Wilky Denaud of Fort Pierce John Carroll on the commit list. If there’s a team to watch, it would be Florida State. But it’s unclear at this time if the ‘Noles will push.

-Offensive tackle target Keyshawn Blackstock of Coffeyville Community College (Ks.) already is good friends with someone currently on the Auburn roster — center Tate Johnson. Apparently, they’ve been talking since both were in high school. Right now, Oregon and Penn State look like Auburn’s biggest competition here. As we noted on the message board Sunday morning, former Auburn running back Brad Lester, who trains players in the metro-Atlanta area, is helping Blackstock navigate through the recruiting process right now. They’ve known each other for years.

-Auburn is working to get Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard 4-star cornerback Antione Jackson on campus next weekend. He’s a Miami commit and we are told the ‘Canes are pressing him to not take the trip.
