Bo Nix, Anders Carlson expected to miss the remainder of the season
AUBURN – Bo Nix and Anders Carlson are expected to miss the remainder of the season, sources confirmed to Auburn Live on Sunday afternoon. Bo Nix made the news official with a social media post on Sunday night.
The Tigers’ starting quarterback injured his ankle late in the third quarter against Mississippi State, the same drive that resulted in the blocked field goal attempt. Bo Nix continued to play on the injured ankle, leading three more drives, including a 90-yard touchdown drive with 3:37 remaining in the game. Nix didn’t leave the game until Auburn’s final possession trailing by nine points, when T.J. Finley was inserted into the game.
Nix will have surgery on his right ankle on Monday in Birmingham, Alabama. Nix will finish the season with 2,294 yards passing, 11 touchdowns, three interceptions, and a 61 percent completion rate. Both Nix’s touchdown-to-interception ratio and completion percentage are career highs for a season. Nix ranks third in career passing, second in career pass attempts, and second in career pass completions at Auburn.
